    June 2016 Small Business Spotlight | Network NZ

    Every month we're going to showcase a handful of Kiwi small businesses that we love! Be it excelling in social media, recognition for their achievements or innovation in design, we're on the look out for people who are killing it in business and doing what they are passionate about. Our first spotlight features ten creative small businesses that we think are amazing!

    The Pressie Box

    First up in the Network NZ Small Business Spotlight is The Pressie Box owned by Rachel Beale. The Pressie box offers gift boxes and baskets for all occasions. We love the look of their modern website with beautifully photographed products and easy navigation. Make sure you check out their well set out Instagram for theme inspo. 

    The Pressie Box can deliver the perfect gift for anyone, for any occasion! With Fathers Day coming up we recommend you take a look at their fab range of 'Gifts for Him'.

    Pepi's Boutique

    Our next business is Pepi's Boutique owned by Krystal Pires. Pepi's Boutique offers gorgeous handmade clothing for little girls with scores of happy customers and over 10,000 followers on Instagram to prove it! With such a stunning themed feed it’s easy to see why Pepi’s Boutique has such a strong following.

    The Lolita Dress, first in this Instagram line up really caught our eye - with such beautiful fabrics and designs, we recommend all those with little princesses check out Pepi's Boutique!


    Created Homewares 

    Created Homewares is the brain child of Jono Smeets and Damo Townsend. They started their business in 2014 with their own brand ‘Create Something’, using premuim concrete products to create a gorgeous range of pots and planters, candles, stools, letters and more. In 2016, they launched their very own shop ‘Created Homewares’, located at 189 Main Street in Upper Hutt. They stock a contemporary collection of New Zealand designed and made products for your home. If you can’t make it into the store you can always shop online. We also love their Instagram feedwhich showcases not just their products but has lots of awesome photos of their shop too.

    Clever Poppy

    Clever Poppy is owned by Julie Stuart. She sells creative DIY home decor kits and downloadable instructions so you can get your creative on! With her help you can create your own watercolour art, magazine racks, painted cups, woven wall hangings and more! We’re also blown away by her gorgeous Instagram feed! Be sure to check out her blog too for help with your next DIY project.

    Woven wall hangings are so on trend right now and Julie's DIY instructions will help you create a gorgeous piece of art for your home that will have special significance since you made it. 

    Daisydot 

    Daisydot is owned by Shona Wallis who designs and makes the cutest fabric dolls, cats, bunnies; and gorgeous bows and headbands. Her products are so beautifully made and are the perfect gift for any little lady in your life. Her softies are filled with hypoallergenic stuffing and she hand paints the faces too. It’s easy to see how much love and hard work goes into every single creation. You can buy her darling dollies and other products online - you won't be disappointed!

    Special mention must be made for Shona's ballet indy cats! We're totally in love!

    KJdesigns Handstamped Jewellery

    KJdesigns Handstamped Jewellery is owned by Susan Coram-Stanley. Susans passion is to make jewellery to commemorate, remember and honour a life that ended to soon, a life that never got to be, or someone you may have lost. Her range also includes pieces to inspire and share love. She hand stamps everything herself, creating a unique piece every time. She likes to use upcycled copper and stainless steel and recently has started stamping cutlery.

    We love her gorgeous photos, there is a consistent theme and her creations look absolutely stunning! You can buy her pieces online including the ones with personalised hand stamped messages. 

    LisaSarah Steel Artwork 

    Lisa Turley is the creative force behind LisaSarah Steel Artwork. She is an incredibly talented designer offering a stunning range of contemporary indoor and outdoor art in stainless, matt black and industrial steel. Her work has strong clean lines and with such professional photography to showcase her work it’s easy to see why she is making an impression both here in NZ and internationally.

    If you are looking for eco-friendly artwork for your home or garden then you’ll want to check out her range. We are blown away by her gorgeous Instagram feed and her matte black steel range has us swooning!

    Helles Teeth 

    Sarah Millar is the brains behind Helles Teeth. Helles Teeth specialises in safe, soothing and non-toxic silicone teething toys for brutal babies, exclusively designed by Sarah herself right here in New Zealand! We are blown away by the innovation behind Helles Teeth, not to the mention how cool the designs are. With a vibrant website that has great photos and easy navigation, we recommend all mums with teething brutal babies check it out! Follow her on Instagram to keep up with new designs and lots of 'in action' photos showing her toys being put to the test! 

    Our personal favourites are the Cthulhu Teething Toy and her Vikings themed range which also includes a T shirt, onsie and swaddling cloth.

    Papercuts 

    Melissa Elliott owns Papercuts. Her business celebrates all things paper and brings you a range of stylish solutions to pretty up your parties, wedding, home and gifts. Check out her stunning Instagram feed, with gorgeous flat lays showing off her products perfectly! She's also got a beautifully designed and well laid out website making it easy to shop online.

    We are particularly taken with her wedding range which includes place settings, lolly bags and beautiful tags.

    The Concrete Chick

    The Concrete Chick by Charlotte de Jong. The Concrete Chick creates very cool handmade designer concrete products, including jewellery, stools, letters, numbers, words, pots, vases, lego men and more! 

    Be sure to check her out on Instagram too. Her feed is full of fantastic photos that really showcase her clever creations. There's so much to love about her range but we are totally digging her novelty range characters!
